Changes In Treatment

Since the Holocaust there have been improvements on the treatments toward people of Jewish heritage.  Before the deaths of 6 million Jews occurred, in September 1941 Jews were required to wear a yellow Star of David in public at all times. This was to differentiate them from the "higher race" . On febuary 5 of the same year a law was made that stated if someone who is Jewish that does a crime would have to serve double time compared to everyone else. These laws were the start of something horrific. Hitler use these laws to make it okay for Jews to be treated differently, which soon turned into genocide.

However after the Holocaust the newer generation are trying to correct passed mistakes made by their ancestors. On March 8 2005 the German foundation paid $3200 to each of 7000 victims exposed to "Medical" experiments performed by Nazi's. These victims were also paid $5400 previously to the $3200 payment.
The German foundation was created in 2000 to make payments to several categories of victims of the Nazi's.

At http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081227143643AAURoJ0 The question asked was how many Jews are now living in Germany. The answer was around 110 000 which is quite interesting that many can now live in a country that 6 million Jews died in not even 100 years ago.
